The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Eng Theodious Chinyanga, has commended progress by the Airports Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ).

Eng Chinyanga made the remarks during the official opening of the ACZ strategic planning workshop held in Victoria Falls under the theme “Expanding possibilities”.

In a statement, read on his behalf, he stated that the strategic planning gathering speaks volumes of the progress ACZ has made.

“ACZ is ensuring the alignment of its target with developmental targets as set out in National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) which aims at realising the country’s Vision 2030.

“As we sit here today and deliberate on the annual plan for ACZ, we are happy to note the growing number of airlines that now patronise our airports.

“This should spur us to increase our efforts in modernising our airport infrastructure,” said Eng Chinyanga

ACZ board chairman, Devnanda Popatlal said the strategic planning gathering held in Matabeleland is very crucial to the nation and is a sign that the Government is not leaving Matabeleland behind.

“Matabeleland is in our heart and we are not forgetting them. We want to address the strategy to them and when we start projects, we will make sure that they are the leaders, not only in the procedures.”
