Peter Ndlovu trims Under-13 team

The squad was selected from the 29 players who took part at a selection tournament held at Belgravia Sports Club recently.
Football Ambassador for Zim­babwe Edzai Kasinauyo said they are happy with the final squad. The team has already started training in prepa­ration of the big event, which has attracted more that 20 countries.
Kasinauyo said the preparations are going according to plan and revealed they are happy that some of the players have already acquired their passports.
“The preparations are going on well according to our plans and we are glad that the passport office has since issued some passports. Only a few remain, of which they said they would be issued by next week.
“The team is motivated and happy to go and represent the nation. It is their first time to go and take part at an International tournament so they are looking forward to the games.
“I attended their training yesterday and I am confident that they will make the country proud.
“They must keep working hard. It is a good start and they must stay focused,” said Kasinauyo.
The team is expected to change their place of training to Rufaro Sta­dium next week.
Among the new crop of players expected to carry the nation’s flag at this youth tournament are Reward Muza, Panashe Nyahwa, Nyasha Galayi, Tapfumanei Chigava, Graig Chidhakwa, Stanely Mhare, Emmanuel Jalayi, Panashe Chibvon­godze, Matthew Jack, Mark Jack, Takudzwa Muskwe, Xesha Ndlovu, Tatenda Muringani, Divine Mhindirira, Ozias Zibande and Mar­lvin Maradzi. The team is expected to leave for Poland of May 28.
Some of the countries taking part are Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, South Africa and the hosts Poland.
The team, under the guidance of the Warriors legend Ndlovu, have intensified their training at Mt Ham­pden primary school were they train twice daily.
