HWANGE entrepreneur Alois Sundano Sikuka yesterday held a six-team football tournament for youths at Nelwuswi Primary School in Jambezi “as a way of giving back to the community” he credits for his upbringing and success.

Five wards, namely Mashala, Jambezi, Mbizha, Sindinda and Simangani and ZRP Hwange competed for the top award between 8am and 2pm. The team that was crowned champions will received $100. There were also awards for the best player and the footballer who topped the scoring chart. All the participating wards were dressed up by Sikuka.

“All six teams received football kits that’s including the police team and all teams got a football each. I spent at least $3 400 buying the kits, paying the referees from Zifa, providing transport for the teams, providing food and drinks for the players and referees and buying match balls,” said Sikuka.
