AT least 88 households in Buhera District villages are set to benefit from a piped water scheme recently set up in Dorowa by a local development partner.
Buhera District Development Fund (DDF) coordinator Mr Takawira Munemo said villagers from Mahembe, Makumbe, Chokore and Mhizha are looking forward to tapping into the project by establishing home and community gardens to expand their livelihoods.
This will also significantly contribute to achieving food security and nutrition for communities in the surrounding areas, he added.
Mr Munemo said the piped water scheme, which stretches for 9.4 kilometres, aims to provide clean water and improve hygienic standards in areas which were affected by Cyclone Idai.
