Pirates to bring back Mushekwi

JOHANNESBURG. — Orlando Pirates could be lining up a deal to bring Zimbabwe international striker, Nyasha Mushekwi, back to South Africa. The story was first broken by Zimbabwean football newspaper Gemazo. Mushekwi is currently on loan at Belgian Jupiler League side KV Oostende from Mamelodi Sundowns.

In a chat with KickOff.com, Pirates spokesperson Mickey Modisane did not rule out the possibility of approaching the Zimbabwean striker. “Anything is possible,” Modisane says.

“Remember that at one point Mushekwi made it clear that he would like to play for Pirates when his loan comes to an end, so one cannot rule out this eventuality.

“He is a very exciting player, but I am not directly involved with player recruitments so I cannot give out more information.”
Mushekwi enjoyed a decent stint while still playing for Sundowns before his eventual departure to Oostende on a loan deal.

He found the back of the net 28 times in 80 appearances for the Brazilians and has also banged in five international goals for Zimbabwe in eight international matches.

In Belgium, he has scored twice in 12 appearances for Oostende. —KickOff.
