A ZVISHAVANE woman was granted a protection order against her ex-husband who assaults her and takes the children by force.

Progress Zimbudzi had applied for a protection order against Claperton Mubvumbi, saying he had gone too far with his abuse.

“Your Worship, he beats me up regularly in front of our children.

“l can’t stand it anymore and I want him to stop stalking me and to stop coming to my place of residence.

“He beats me up with open hands and sometimes with a whip. He always threatens to kill me and I’m scared Your Worship.

“Please tell him not to kill me,” said Progress.

Claperton didn’t deny the allegations.

“All that she said is true, but she is the one who provokes me and we always end up fighting over petty issues. I heard that she has moved on with another man, which is not fair because l still love her. Another man should never raise my kids. I now stay in Waterfalls because she wants us to separate, which is not fair.

“Why did she move on?”

Magistrate Rutendo Machingura granted the protection order.
