Pleasure galore

According to philosopher, Byron Pulsifer: “The weekend is usually seen as a time for relaxation or a time to do what you wanted to do through the week, but couldn’t or a time to catch up on needed sleep or a time to visit with family and friends.”

Now with the rains approaching, who knows what to do and where to go, but with a lot of events happening, revellers are spoilt for choice this weekend. What one needs to remember is that Covid-19 is real and should always sanitize and mask up.

Here are some of the major events taking place this weekend:

Diana brings new aura to Dreams Night Club

Songstress Diana Samkange is set to bring a new aura at Dreams Night Club tonight as she launches her new album “Gungwa Ndiyerese”.

The event will run parallel with the launch of the Diana Samkange — Mangwenya Music brand which is a resemblance of two images in one artist. Dreams Night Club is popularly known for hosting high heeled people and socialites’ birthday parties were clubbing will be the order of the day, but the “Gungwa Ndiyerese” launch will bring a new feel as it will be a corporate event for captains of industry.

Diana’s manager Stacy Vee Chihwa said people should expect top class music.

“For this event, we wanted a proper sound that would do justice to our music. It is like each time we call people to our listening session in the studio, they accept and appreciate music better than listening on radio,” she said.

Chihwa said the show will be a corporate event with invited businessmen where they are going to launch the album and the brand.

She hinted that the Live Wire band will perform tomorrow at Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre.

“We want people to know that they are not coming to Dreams Night Club for clubbing, but they are coming to a venue they know, but with a different aura, ambiance and a different atmosphere altogether,” said Chihwa.

“It is going to be different and everything will be taking place on a casual set up.”

Little Theatre resumes Dry Jokes comedy shows

Officials at theatre organisation, Patsime Trust, have said they have opened Jasen Mphepo Little Theatre doors for a night of laughter to theatre enthusiasts, presenting a comedy show titled “The Dry Jokes” scheduled for tonight.

Mad Sunday returns to Wood Garden

Judgement Yard Mad Sunday has returned after a long break due to Covid-19.

“Judgement Yard Mad Sunday is a Movement, we move from one home to the other and right now we have a New Home which is Wood Garden by Longchen,” said DJ Flevah in a statement.

“Judgement Yard Mad Sunday is a culture which has been running for 14 years now and this December we celebrate our 14th anniversary. We have DJ 2bad, DJ Skattah, Short Boss aka Tawastok, DJ Flevah and of course the chief executive officer running things from behind the scenes I-Randu,” said DJ Flevah.

“We all have our side hustles in the camp and we did private functions too. I also did Boat cruises in Kariba and now Kariba is the Talk of town.”

Victor Kunonga at Theatre in the Park

Organisers of the concert dubbed “Never Been Seen Before” which will feature musician Victor Kunonga said all is set at the Theatre in the Park tonight.

The event organised by RoofTop Promotion in conjunction with Dollarbill Entertainment will also feature Chipo Muchengwa and will be hosted under the Covid-19 regulations and restrictions.
