A PLUMTREE belle has been crowned Miss Natural Beauty Queen.
Margret Mangowe (25) was the overwhelming winner in a competition that drew participants from all provinces on Africa Day.
Troyka Leisure Centre, situated at Glen View 8 Complex in Harare, was the venue where the beauty queens paraded their amazing looks without any use of make-up.
Yolanda Chimusuro (23) of Glen View was crowned the first princess and Idah Manwere (23) of Eastview Park, the second runner-up.
Magret told H-Metro that empowering the girl child and youth is shaping the future, creating a more equitable and prosperous society for all.
“My motto is being the best version of myself,” said Margret.
“Miss Natural Beauty helped me to believe in myself and not only that but to know that beauty is not just about the looks but the beauty inside.
“I believe in myself and what God gave me and such is my strength and power to reach my intended destination.
“As a model, I have been fortunate to have a platform that allows me to speak out on important issues, and today, I want to bring attention to the empowerment of the girl child and the youths.”
She added:
“In a world where opportunities should be available to all, it is crucial that we support and uplift our younger generation.
“Every girl, regardless of her background, deserves the chance to dream, to learn, and to thrive.
“By investing in their education, providing mentorship, and fostering a supportive environment, we can ensure that girls and young people have the tools they need to succeed.”
