Plumtree cops nail armed robbers

POLICE have arrested three armed robbers who targeted shops at a business centre in Plumtree and recovered more than R 7 000, RTGS 8 802 and other valuables.

Police identified the suspects as Trust Nkomo, Richard Ncube and Charley Moyo. 

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the three-man gang robbed shop owners and workers at knife-point on Thursday last week. 

The suspects also robbed a homestead.

Asst Comm Nyathi said the suspects were arrested on Sunday following a tip off from members of the public.

“I can confirm the arrest of three suspects in connection with four robbery cases. Their arrest led to the recovery of R7 060 and RTGS$ 8 802 and other valuables that include clothes, groceries, cellphones and solar lights,” said Ass Comm Nyathi. 

The accused targeted general dealers and bottle stores.—@michellzvanyanyan2
