Woman fined $100 for attack on husband

A WOMAN from Bulawayo has been fined $100 for assaulting her husband with a broom accusing him of arranging love relationships for their female tenants.

Fadzai Mudhenge (38) of Northend suburb hit her husband Mr Checkson Hwingwiri (45) on the head and neck before twisting his fingers.

Mudhenge pleaded guilty to physical abuse when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate, Ms Nomasiko Ndlovu.

The magistrate fined her $100 or 20 days in prison.

Prosecuting, Mr Mufaro Mageza said on October 12 this year at around midday, Mr Hwingwiri called his friend to come to his house and repair a door to his tenant’s room.

When the friend arrived, a misunderstanding arose between Mudhenge and her husband.

She assaulted Mr Hwingwiri accusing him of bringing men to their home so that they could have love affairs with their tenants.

Mr Hwingwiri sustained bruises on his fingers, a swollen back and neck. 

He was referred to hospital for medical treatment.

The matter was reported to the police leading to Mudhenge’s arrest.—@zinyuke98.
