five years for healthcare activities.
Officially opening the HTF in Marondera PM Tsvangirai heaped praises on civil servants for their loyalty to serve the nation despite earning meagre salaries.
PM Tsvangirai said he had moved around the country and discovered that civil servants, especially in the health sector, were living in squalid conditions. He chronicled his experiences during his tour of health institutions in Binga and Tsholotsho.
On health user fees, PM Tsvangirai said it was his hope that the fee would be scrapped during the tenure of the inclusive Government.
He said high user fees were limiting mothers and children’s access to life serving interventions.
Speaking at the same occasion, Unicef country representative Dr Peter Salama said the HTF would interrogate the critical programmes of MNCH, HIV nutrition with the health system components of essential medicines and commodities and support for health workers and health policy and financing.
