However, the PM’s spokesperson, Mr Luke Tamborinyoka, said the visit was aimed at enhancing economic and socio-political relations between the two countries.
PM Tsvangirai was accompanied by several Government officials from the ministries of Water Resources Management, Finance, Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development and Transport, Communications and Infrastructural Development.
“They will discuss a credit line facility signed in September 2012 by the respective ministers of finance,” said Mr Tamborinyoka.
PM Tsvangirai and President Khama were also expected to discuss the implementation of an agreement on control of foot and mouth disease, the opening of a new border post as well as the tripartite agreement between Botswana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe to develop a railway link and port for the transportation of coal and other commodities.
The two were also expected to discuss the possibility of joint water projects.
