POET Vongai “Leeray” Masuka has called for unity among artists through her programme dubbed “Chitungwiza Poetry and Convergence”.

The rising artist believes unity promotes success in the arts industry and hosted the programme for the second time.

She has been hosting similar arts events at her place in Chitungwiza to call for social interaction and unity

“The aim of my programme is to promote social interaction and unity.

“By doing so, we don’t only create friendships but we also find unity and teamwork.

“I host these events right here because we can’t afford any other venue but we have the urge to push the industry so we had to utilise the resources we had,” she said.

The second event saw Vongai hosting well-known poets like Tinashe Muchuri, Prosper Njeke, General Fire Colloso and Biggie Chiranga at her house.

She is looking forward to publishing her anthology before the end of the year.

Vongai launched Chitungwiza Poetry and Convergence programme in February this year and has hosted more than 29 poets and artists to date.
