Manyame district police have issued a prohibition order banning the carrying of traditional weapons in public.
The prohibition order follows the recent ban by police of the same weapons in Makonde and Chegutu districts.
Officer commanding Manyame District, Chief Superintendent R Mbedzi, said there had been a surge in attacks, violence and murder cases related to the use of such weapons.
The ban runs from June 16 to September this year.
Some of the banned weapons include catapults, machetes, knobkerries, axes, swords, knives and spears.
