POLICE in Bulawayo have launched investigations into a murder case following the discovery of a 52-year-old man’s body in Old Magwegwe on Monday morning.
The deceased, identified as Mlimisi Ncube of Pelandaba West suburb, was found lying in a pool of blood along Hyde Park Road near the Makaratini turn-off.
According to police, the body was discovered at about 5.10am by a 43-year-old motorist who was driving along the road when he noticed a man lying on the roadside.
The motorist reportedly stopped to investigate and found that the man was unresponsive and had sustained stab wounds.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident and said investigations were underway.
“On June 22, 2026, at around 5.10am, a 43-year-old male motorist driving along Hyde Park Road discovered the body of Mlimisi Ncube (52) of Pelandaba West lying on the side of the road at the Makaratini turn-off in Old Magwegwe, Bulawayo.
“The deceased was lying in a pool of blood and had two stab wounds on the right side of the chest. A report was made to the police and the body was conveyed to United Bulawayo Hospitals for a post-mortem examination,” said Insp Msebele.
She said police were following up on all possible leads and appealed to members of the public who may have information that could assist with investigations to come forward.
“Investigations are in progress and we appeal to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons to report at any nearest police station,” she said.
Insp Msebele warned that law enforcement agents would continue pursuing the perpetrators until they are brought to justice.
“We also warn criminals that the police will not rest until they are brought to book,” said Insp Msebele.
The motive behind the killing has not yet been established and no arrests had been made at the time of going to print.
Police said investigations are continuing.
