POLICE have released the names of 17 suspected and convicted drug dealers and suppliers who have so far been arrested during a countrywide operation.
Some of them have been convicted while others still have their cases pending before the courts.
In his latest statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the fight against drug lords and suppliers was continuing.
“Through the national committee on the elimination of drugs and substance abuse, the Zimbabwe Republic Police will continue naming and shaming drug barons and suppliers in any part of the country,” he said.
“We reiterate that there is no going back in the fight against drug and substance abuse.
“The public is urged to continue forwarding information regarding drug barons and suppliers through the National Complaints Desk number.
“Of the list, eleven are from Harare with the youngest drug dealer aged 22 and the oldest being 50.
“Last year, the Government availed funds under the drug and substance abuse mitigation efforts to speed up high-impact activities in the fight against the drug menace.
According to the statement, Harare has the most convictions and the drug of choice is Crystal Meth.
The suspects are Tafadzwa Kagande (37), of The Grange, Wadzanai Siyamachira (38) of Warren Park D, Yeukai Sandra Bangajena (34) of Bankert, Blessing Phiri (27), Sandra Tirivangani (35) and Elizabeth Masando (39) of Mbare, Sheena Mugwagwa (36) of Area 16 Dangamvura, Moleen Mazani (24), Wellington Simbarashe John (27) and Kalisto Bisenti (45) of Mufakose,
Others are Naison Takaindisa (37) of Chiedza Township, Bezel Munodawafa (35) of Dustin Road, Hillside, Pride Ezra Madamombe of Ushewekunze, Tatenda Rusere (38) alias Jack of Glenview 2, Kalisto Bisenti (45) of Jongwe Road.
