BULAWAYO police  said yesterday that they have not yet made any arrests in connection with the murder of a couple whose bodies were found dumped in a drainage in Bulawayo’s Nkulumane suburb on Thursday last week. The two bodies of a man and a woman were found dumped in a grass-filled drain at the corner of Intemba and Rangemore roads in Nkulumane 12.
The bodies were in an advanced stage of decomposition.

The acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Abedinico Ncube yesterday said they had not cracked any leads on the case. “Investigations are still in progress but we have nothing tangible as yet,” he said.

Ncube said the two bodies have been identified and the woman’s body has since been buried.
“The woman Nokukhanya Ncube, 23, from Nkulumane, was identified by her family and has since been buried. The man Mthabisi Dube from Esigodini was identified by his friends but his next of kin  are yet to come forward,” he said.

Ncube was found naked, save for a pair of panties while Dube was wearing a pair of jeans and a purple sweater.
Dube’s throat was slit; his hands and legs were tied.

Police have appealed to people with information that might lead to the arrest of the murder suspects to report at any nearest police station.
