POLICE in Chinhoyi have taken the blitz against mushikashikas to another level.
Provincial police spokesman, Inspector Ian Kohwera, told H-Metro, it will not be business as usual as they battle to bring sanity on the roads.
“We have noted that some of the vehicles are not registered with some exchanging several hands with no change of ownership,“ said Insp Kohwera.
“This situation is criminal and cannot go unchecked.”
Insp Kohwera said from this month alone the police have impounded 594 vehicles.
“Police continue to urge vehicle owners willing to be in the transport sector to register their vehicles and do the business legally.
“Vehicles must be registered within 14 days from the date of purchase.
“When selling it to someone, a change of ownership process must be followed.”
