Politburo Strategic Seminar cements party coordination and Government focus

Zanu PF First Secretary, President Mnangagwa, will address a Zanu PF Strategic Seminar for Politburo members this morning as the party seeks to strengthen internal coordination and strategic focus both within the revolutionary party and in Government.

Today’s meeting comes after a Zanu PF Central Committee strategic seminar that was held last week at the Zanu PF Convention Centre in Gweru.

The seminar, to be held at Heritage Village in Harare, will see several speakers addressing Politburo members on various thematic areas, with President Mnangagwa presiding over the opening ceremony.
Members are expected to deliberate on how to implement the resolutions that emerged from last week’s Central Committee Strategic Seminar.

Today’s strategic seminar underscores Zanu PF’s continued dominance in the country’s political ecosystem.

President Mnangagwa arrives for seminar

President Mnangagwa has arrived in the auditorium where the Zanu PF Politburo Strategic Seminar is being held.

Vice President Dr Kembo Mohadi, National Chairman Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, and SecretaryGeneral Advocate Jacob Mudenda are among the senior officials in attendance.

The arrival of President Mnangagwa signals the formal commencement of the seminar.

Seminar to focus on strategic direction

The seminar for Zanu PF Politburo members will run for two days and will focus on different thematic areas that provide impetus to the party and the Government’s strategic direction.

Some of the topics to be discussed include “Zanu PF Ideology as a Guiding Tenet for the Politburo,” which will be presented by the party’s National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha.

Another topic is “Transformative Leadership and Governance of the Party by the Politburo,” to be presented by Professor Rungano Zvobgo.

Additionally, there is a topic titled “Understanding the Correlation Between the Party and National Constitution in Order to Improve the Governance of the Party and the State,” where Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi is expected to make a presentation.

Other topics include “Evaluating the State of the National Economy in the Context of the Implementation of NDS1 and Unpacking NDS2”.

Treasurer General, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, will also make a presentation on “The Role of the Politburo in Resource Mobilisation for the Party.”

Secretary General welcomes Politburo members

ZANU PF Secretary General Advocate Jacob Mudenda has welcomed Politburo members attending the strategic seminar here at the Heritage Village.

“We will soldier on as the executive authority of the Central Committee,” he said.

He then invited the guest of honour, President Mnangagwa, who is the party’s First Secretary, to officially open the strategic seminar for Politburo members.

Politburo urged to uphold party ideals

President Mnangagwa has challenged Politburo members to be ideologically grounded, constitutionally embedded, and resolutely committed to disciplined leadership and effective governance.

Officially opening the strategic seminar for Politburo members this afternoon, President Mnangagwa, who is the party’s First Secretary, said the seminar is a fundamental intervention to sharpen the

 

Politburo’s capacity to discharge party duties.

“I challenge the Politburo, being a critical nerve of our party’s overall machinery, to sharpen its collective skills and competencies.

“We must be ideologically grounded, constitutionally embedded, and resolutely committed to

disciplined leadership and effective governance,” he said.
President Mnangagwa also urged Politburo members to engage in robust and frank deliberations during the seminar.
“As we share perspectives and proffer recommendations at this strategic seminar, let us do so with focus, unity of purpose, and a deep appreciation of the responsibility we carry.
“The future of our party, the stability of our beloved motherland, Zimbabwe, and the prosperity of generations to come depend on the quality of leadership and guidance we provide,” said President Mnangagwa.
