AN ambitious politician has been hauled before the Harare Civil Court by his wife over domestic violence.
Abigale Maronge dragged Agrippa Musiyakurima to court to answer allegations of physical abuse and threats of evicting her from their matrimonial home.
In her application, Maronge said her husband was in the habit of assaulting her in front of their children and co-tenants. She said Musiyakurima has been forcing her to move out of the house since 2020.
“He is abusing me as he wants to evict me from our matrimonial house. He told me to use another spare bedroom but he is now searching my room without my consent.
“It’s not fair that he chased away all my relatives we used to stay with but now we are living with a group of his male friends and relatives,” said Maronge.
In response, Musiyakurima denied the allegations and asked for evidence to support all these claims.
“l don’t know what she is talking about, if possible, she can submit evidence to support her claims, “he said.
Magistrate Sharon Mashavire postponed the matter to a later date to ensure the applicant provides evidence of her claims of physical abuse.
