Pool tourney set to begin

THE Carling Black Label national pool tournament regional competitions are set to roar into life next weekend with more than 1,300 players expected to take part ahead of the national finals in November. The national finals are set for November 7 in Bulawayo. Delta Beverages marketing manager Patricia Murambinda said to qualify for the tourney, one has to purchase five units of Carling Black Label, attach five crowns or five red ring pulls to the entry form.

She said Delta Beverages had contributed to the development of pool in Zimbabwe through their Carling Black Label brand and they would continue to support future events.

Their vision, she said, is to enhance sport and culture in the country through supporting the objectives of national associations and players.

“It’s a win-win game for the Carling Black Label drinkers as they enjoy big value for their money and entertainment, and it’s a smart source of income for quality players.

“We’ve no doubt that local talent is being afforded the chance to realise the dream of becoming masters of the game,” said Murambinda.

According to the regional itinerary released by Murambinda, the first regional competition will be held on Saturday and Sunday in Bindura and Marondera.

Hwange, Bulawayo and Gwanda will hold the last regional finals on the weekend of October 24 and 25 before the grand national finals roll into Bulawayo in November.
