“Posa is all about creating orderliness within the society and it is those who want to create chaos and confusion that distort it,” he said.
Comm-Chihuri said those denouncing the law did not have Zimbabwe at heart.
“Usually people of a disorderly mind are the ones who do not want to approve. There is no leadership that can come without this piece of legislation.
‘If one wants to rule they have to use it so as to avoid a state of chaos and anarchy. Even in the home there are rules. No home can exist without rules because their absence means lack of order,” he said.
Comm-Gen Chihuri said people misrepresented police relations with the public yet lawbreakers were the source of confusion.
“It is only those who go against laws of the country, who do not wish to comply with laws that are a source of confusion.
“If national laws are not respected then laws of the jungle take over and it becomes survival of the fittest.”
Comm-Gen Chihuri urged Zimbabweans to be wary of organisations, which sought to usurp Zimbabwe’s hard-won independence under the pretence of offering help.
