Poverty made me steal, woman tells court

Weekender Correspondent

A 20-year-old Sakubva woman was last week fined $200 for shop lifting.

Getrude Sagora appeared before Mrs Annie Ndiraya facing theft charges.

The accused got into Mutare TM supermarket in the afternoon and stole food stuffs.

Sagora pleaded guilty to the charges and pleaded for leniency saying she stole because of poverty.
