Premier school offers unique course

Business Reporter
ACCA accredited tuition provider, Premier Business School (PBS), has come up with a unique programme for Advanced Level students that are studying commercials that enables them to undertake academic and professional studies concurrently. The business school is now offering tuition for A-Level commercials that will run concurrently with a Diploma in Accounting and Business studies offered by ACCA.

The combined programme is being launched in phases starting with Harare in 2015 and is expected to be rolled out in Bulawayo by first quarter 2016.

This unique and innovative package allows students to obtain parallel qualifications. According to the school, students who successfully complete the both studies may proceed to either seek employment soon after completion or advance further to complete the ACCA professional qualification and become chartered accountants.

“In support of this initiative, ACCA will extend three exemptions to those students who would like to further their education to obtain an ACCA professional qualification after having completed and passed their A-Level and the Diploma in Accounting and Business Studies qualification.

“This exemption means that instead of doing 14 modules as required for the ACCA professional qualification, one is now able to obtain the same qualification having completed 11 modules.

“Ideally, a full ACCA qualification takes between three and four years but with the introduction of this pioneering package in Zimbabwe, one can now obtain the same qualification in two years,” the school said.

Speaking at the recent Premier Business School Student Alumni session in Harare, PBS founder Mr Ngoni Sanangura highlighted that the A-Level package was a first of its kind in Zimbabwe.

He said it adequately prepares qualified students for their working life. He added that Premier Business School’s key strength was its ability to deliver competently on commercial qualifications and it only made sense for them to specialise in that field.

“We have great resources and ACCA tutors who have produced commendable results over the years. These are the same tutors who will deliver on our A-Level plus diploma tuition programme.

“Our goal is to produce the best A-Level plus diploma results in the country for PBS students first exam sitting in two years,” he said.

“The A-Level plus diploma programme will open a lot of opportunities for students should they decide to do ACCA upon completion of their A-Levels plus diploma programme.

“Students who complete the programme will only study an extra six courses of the ACCA qualification to qualify for a BSc Honours degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brooke’s University, a world renowned university.

“An ACCA qualification is recognised in over 170 countries in the world and this obviously creates amazing opportunities for qualified students”, said Mr Sanangura.

Situated in Harare and Bulawayo, Premier Business School has been offering student tuition support for the ACCA professional qualification, hence its accreditation as the first ACCA Gold partner tuition provider in Zimbabwe.

The school has developed mutually beneficial relationships, increased global availability of effective, innovative course delivery and has provided first-class student support for all its ACCA students.
