“Who has that power? Who has the power to make president (of the Council of Chiefs, Fortune) Charumbira pregnant for nine months? I don’t know. Can the devil do it with his devilish tricks? Who are the Europeans to do it? They want to destroy nature, to destroy mankind.”
He recounted a recent story that happened at his farm when one of his workers was attacked by a male pig. Workers had separated the boar from two sows and when the worker was attending to it, it lept at him.
“Two females were in separate pens and one of them was on heat. The boar knew that one of them was on heat and they needed a male pig and there it is. It was angry and jumped at the worker. That is what nature does. You cannot reverse it. It (the boar) was angry because it was shut in a pen when it was supposed to be doing its job. There you are. It is a good lesson to the British and the Americans. Even pigs know their hes and shes. Let’s never be made to accept homosexuality.”
The President said western nations sought to decimate Africa’s virtuous values by “imposing deplorable alien principles and practices and in the manner of homosexuality, lesbianism, and bestiality, among others, our moral fabric stands endangered”.
He regretted that some African leaders were allowing themselves to be dictated to by the west on homosexuality, getting aid in return.
“It is a shame that some African leaders and even some from among us are condoning such appalling acts under the guise of democracy,” said President Mugabe.
“In fact some African leaders are upholding such dehumanising practices as a precondition for receiving donor monies! One notes with deep concern the moral decadence of the west which is influencing some among us to seek to relegate our values in order to please their western sponsors.”
He urged chiefs to lead in the upholding of culture and good morals and castigated men who had multiple sexual partners saying such immorality fuelled the Aids pandemic.
“People are killed at beer drinks. Girl friends, ‘I saw you with my girlfriend,’ you pursue the person, you have an axe or knife, then the person is dead. You have a son who attacks his parents. You don’t attack your father; it never used to happen. A son never used to raise his hand against his father.
“Chiefs, are we doing enough to invoke that which binds us together? And these little kids, abuse. It is so rampant. Vana sisi dare not leave the little brothers. Then you have the issue of multiple marriages, polygamy. Tinoramba homosexuality; that is dirty, filthy, filthy, but we men are an unfaithful lot. Hatigutswi nemudzimai umwe chete (Most men are promiscuous). If your system allows you to have more than one wife, then marry them properly.”
