President Mnangagwa today handed over vehicles and wheelchairs to five young Zimbabweans with disabilities, reaffirming Government’s commitment to empowering all citizens and ensuring that no one is left behind.
The handover ceremony, held at State House, saw the beneficiaries that were drawn from various sectors receiving Mahindra vehicles to enhance their independence and increase their capacity to assist other people with disabilities.


Each of the recipients will also receive 10 wheelchairs for distribution within their respective communities.
Among the beneficiaries were musicians Chipo Muchegwa, Greatman, born Tongai Gwaze, Hazel Mandaza, an entrepreneur and Zimbabwe Youth Council board member, Bulawayo-based beautician Michelle Madawu,
and Tendai Mazuru, who runs the Tendai Mazuru Foundation that is dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities and their families.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Mnangagwa said empowering persons with disabilities remains a key pillar of the Second Republic’s inclusive development agenda.

He said Government will continue to implement policies and programmes that promote equal participation for every citizen, particularly young people who are striving to make a difference in their communities despite challenges.
