President Hichilema sworn in . . .

President Hakainde Hichilema has been sworn in this afternoon as the 7th Zambia Executive President.

He was sworn in at a colourful ceremony at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. President Mnangagwa and other Heads of State including Presidents Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, Lazarus Chakwela of Malawi who is also the incoming chair of SADC.

President Mnangagwa who arrived here yesterday said he was happy that Zambia had led by example in transferring power smoothly after elections.
