President Mnangagwa has been applauded for prioritising women’s empowerment and ensuring that they occupy positions of influence.
Zanu PF Women’s League secretary Cde Mabel Chinomona said this while handing over 5 000- layer chicks to women in Mashonaland East, at an event held in Marondera yesterday.

The chicks are part of the many initiatives initiated by President Mnangagwa to empower women throughout the country.
“We want to applaud President Mnangagwa for being a listening leader,” said Cde Chinomona, who is also Senate president.
“Whenever we go to him with our challenges as women, he listens and assists us. We told him that women also want to be uplifted, and now we have some women in position of influence in Government.

“For example, our prosecutor general is a woman. So we have a President who is keen on empowering and uplifting every woman across the country.
“We commend that and what we have to do now is to play our part and ensure we work hard and contribute to national development.
“There are some women who tell themselves that they are failures. Let me tell you today that as a woman, you are not a failure. We are hard workers and we are good at working. So let us start to see ourselves as important people.”
She said the chicks are from President Mnangagwa and women now have to make the programme a success.
