President Mnangagwa engages Xin Gang Lian Group to boost Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome Industry

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa met with the Xin Gang Lian Group, a global leader in the ferrochrome industry, led by Chairman Mr Zhou Xuddon, on September 3, 2024.


The meeting aimed to explore potential investments and partnerships in Zimbabwe’s mining sector, particularly in ferrochrome production.

Ferrochrome is a critical component in stainless steel manufacturing, and Zimbabwe possesses significant chrome reserves.
The meeting depicts the Government’s commitment to revitalising the mining industry, which is a key pillar of Zimbabwe’s economy.

As Zimbabwe seeks to enhance its industrial capacity and attract foreign investment, collaboration with industry leaders like Xin Gang Lian Group is essential.
Mr Zhou expressed interest in expanding operations in Zimbabwe, highlighting the country’s potential as a strategic supplier of ferrochrome to international markets.

The engagement aligns with the broader goals of the Zimbabwean Government to increase mineral production and create jobs, particularly in the context of ongoing efforts to stimulate economic growth following recent challenges.
