Mutare, Zimbabwe — Today, President Emmerson Mnangagwa is the guest of honour at the Youth Empowerment Forum (YEF) and the belated Africa Youth Day Commemorations, taking place at the Magamba Vocational Training Centre (MVTC) in Mutare, Manicaland Province.

The event has gathered thousands of young people from all 10 provinces of Zimbabwe, highlighting the Government’s commitment to youth empowerment.

The Youth Empowerment Forum aims to engage and inspire the youth, providing a platform for discussions on their role in national development and economic growth. Meanwhile, the Africa Youth Day Commemorations, traditionally observed on November 1, celebrate the African Union’s recognition of youths as vital agents for economic progress and sustainable development across the continent.

During the event, President Mnangagwa is expected to address the challenges faced by the youth and outline the Government’s initiatives aimed at enhancing their participation in the economy. The forum will also feature various workshops and discussions aimed at equipping young people with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in an evolving job market.

As Zimbabwe seeks to harness the potential of its youth, today’s forum and commemorations represent a critical step in fostering a generation that can drive sustainable development and innovation in the country.
