President Mnangagwa leads Cabinet tour of Pricabe Farm in Kwekwe

Kwekwe, Midlands Province — TODAY, President Emmerson Mnangagwa is leading a Cabinet tour of the First Family’s Pricabe Farm in Sherwood, Kwekwe, focusing on agricultural innovation and sustainability.

The President is accompanied by the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, who is also the Patron of the Agric4She initiative.

The tour aims to showcase successful farming practices and promote food security in Zimbabwe, aligning with the Government’s broader agricultural policies.

Currently, Pricabe farm has 300 hectares of winter wheat, 200 hectares of barley and 30 hectares of potato crop. The farm has over 2 000 head of cattle of different breeds, including the Ankole breed, goats, pigs and poultry, among other livestock. It serves as a remarkable example of agricultural excellence, inspiring others across the region.

During the visit, President Mnangagwa and the Cabinet will engage with local farmers and stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities within the agricultural sector.

Agric4She, championed by the First Lady, emphasises the empowerment of women in agriculture, aiming to enhance their roles in food production and economic development.

The initiative seeks to provide women with the necessary resources and knowledge to thrive in the agricultural field.

Government has prioritised food security as a critical component of national development, and the tour of Pricabe Farm highlights its commitment to fostering sustainable agricultural practices. As Zimbabwe navigates various economic challenges, enhancing food production capabilities remains a key focus for the administration.
