The Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Advocate Misheck Mugadza, has said Village Business Units are a model for success.
In an interview yesterday on the sidelines of a field day held at a Village Business Unit in Ward 18, Mutasa South, Minister Mugadza said the project is focused on sustainable farming practices and community-led development.
The Nyakatsapa Presidential Village Business has made significant strides, with 0.25 hectares of potatoes and 1500 fish.
“This project is not just about agriculture and fisheries, it is about empowering communities and promoting economic growth. We will continue to support initiatives like these, which are helping to build a stronger, more prosperous community.
“The success of this project is a direct result of the community’s resilience and determination. Such initiatives are driving economic growth and improving people’s livelihoods,” Minister Mugadza said.
He also emphasized the importance of supporting local initiatives and promoting food security, highlighting the Presidential Village Businesses as a model for success.
“The Village Business Units are a brainchild of our visionary leader, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and are a key component of our National Development Strategy.
“These units are empowering rural communities, promoting food security, and driving economic growth.
They are a shining example of what can be achieved when we work together towards a common goal of building a prosperous and resilient nation,” he said.
