Gospel musician Prince Chigwida has closed 2025 on a high note, marking a year that blended personal milestones, musical success and a deepening sense of purpose that continues to define his growing influence in Zimbabwe’s entertainment and faith-based spaces.
Chigwida painted a picture of a year that tested, rewarded and affirmed his calling both as an artist and as a public figure driven by faith. From academic achievements to chart impact and national recognition, the singer’s journey has been one of steady ascent.
Among the milestones he celebrated was graduating, an achievement he listed with pride as a foundation that complements his creative path.
“Achieved graduation,” he said, placing education alongside music as a pillar of his growth.
For Chigwida, the academic milestone symbolised discipline and balance in a career often dominated by unpredictable schedules and public pressure.
Musically, 2025 proved to be a breakthrough year. The artist released four songs, two of which surpassed two million views on YouTube, a feat that firmly positioned him among the most impactful gospel voices of his generation.
The digital success reflects not only strong fan support but also the expanding reach of Zimbabwean gospel music beyond traditional church spaces into mainstream digital platforms.
“I released four hit songs, two with 2m+ views on YouTube, unlocking unprecedented success,” Chigwida noted, underscoring how the numbers mirrored a deeper connection with listeners who resonate with his message of hope, faith and perseverance.
One of the most significant highlights of the year was being invited to perform at State House for the First Family. For many artists, such an invitation is both an honour and a national endorsement, and Chigwida did not take the moment lightly.
“I felt very honoured to perform at the State House for the President and Amai Mnangagwa, a truly uplifting experience,” he said.
The performance marked a career-defining moment, placing him on a prestigious platform that few musicians attain, particularly within the gospel genre.
Beyond music and public recognition, 2025 was also a deeply personal year for Chigwida, as he exchanged vows in marriage. He described the occasion as “a beautiful union,” signalling a new chapter in his personal life that he believes strengthens his sense of purpose and responsibility.
In addition to entertaining and inspiring through music, Chigwida also took on a mentorship role, particularly among young people. He highlighted his participation at the ZCC Youth Gala Conference, where he shared his journey and encouraged youths to pursue purpose-driven lives.
“I inspired the youth at the ZCC Youth Gala Conference, what a humbling opportunity,” he said, framing the experience as one of service rather than status. His involvement reflects a growing trend among artists who use their platforms to mentor and motivate beyond performance stages.
As he reflected on the year, gratitude emerged as a recurring theme. Chigwida openly acknowledged the role of faith and community in his success, emphasising that his achievements were not a solo effort.
“Reflecting on the journey, I am grateful for God and all the supportive individuals who believed in me,” he shared. The statement reinforced his image as an artist grounded in spirituality and humility, qualities that have endeared him to a loyal following.
Looking ahead, Chigwida made it clear that he sees 2026 as a year of even greater possibilities.
“2026, I am poised to reach even greater heights,” he declared, signalling ambition without losing the reflective tone that defined his year-end message.
Chigwida also addressed the importance of genuine human connection in an era dominated by digital interaction. While social media has played a key role in amplifying his music, Chigwida stressed that real relationships are built offline.
“Social media connects us, but real connection happens face to face,” he said. He went on to invite supporters to approach him in everyday spaces, adding.
“If you ever see me in town, at church, or at any event please come greet me. That’s how Purpose Nation grows.”
The message offered a glimpse into Chigwida’s philosophy: that growth is rooted in community, accessibility and shared purpose. As his profile continues to rise, the artist appears committed to remaining approachable and grounded.
With a year defined by success, service and self-reflection behind him, Prince Chigwida enters 2026 as one of the gospel music figures to watch.
His journey so far suggests that for him, entertainment is not just about fame, but about impact, connection and purpose-driven growth.
