A PRISON officer from Zvishavane has found himself on the wrong side of the bars—this time not as a guard, but as a convict!
Energy Chivasa, 29, was hauled before the Western Commonage Magistrates’ Court in Bulawayo after he was caught red-handed with unregistered medicine worth over ZWL 4 100.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said Chivasa’s illegal stash was discovered during a routine search by alert ZPCS police officers on 1 April 2025 around 1PM.
The rogue officer, who serves at Zvishavane Prison, couldn’t explain why he was in possession of the illicit medication and was slapped with a sentence—either cough up US$250 or spend 3 months behind bars!
Looks like Chivasa will need a dose of his own medicine… this time served cold by the justice system.
