A Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services officer based at Ntabazinduza Training Depot just outside Bulawayo shot himself dead at his in-laws’ homestead in Ntabazinduna on Friday evening in a suspected domestic dispute.
ZPCS national spokesperson Chief Superintendent Priscilla Mthembo yesterday said Nkosilathi Tshuma was on duty when the incident happened.
“We are not sure of the circumstances but he was on duty and went to his in-laws’ home where he shot himself. At the moment we do not know what could have been the motive because he did not leave a note on why he committed suicide,” she said.
Chief Supt Mthembo said Tshuma joined ZPCS in 2011 and was a Correctional Service Grade 1 officer.
