THE private sector remains committed to ensuring that the country attains a digital economy.
The development comes after a local information technology company, ZimHost, launched two online platforms.
It launched the OyOs (Own Your Online Store) WhatsApp bot and an online store platform.
The OyOs WhatsApp bot will assist students from primary schools to colleges in doing their assignments and for research purposes.
Speaking at the launch, ZimHost managing director, Pearson Pfavayi said the two platforms will revolutionise the way institutions and businesses operate.
“Our online stores aim to create a platform for building e- commerce stores for customers.
“It is a virtual assistant that can answer questions, provide customer service, and help with tasks. It is powered by natural language processing and machine learning algorithms to provide a personalised experience,” he said.
Pfavayi said OyOs has been pushed by an effervescent thirst to provide quality and affordable service provision to Zimbabweans.
“OyOs has since then incorporated local payment gateway services on these platforms as to negate from the Western centred mode of ecommerce and trying to erect a domesticated product that the average Third World African consumer can enjoy without having to worry of the technical connotations associated with purchase and use of foreign goods online.
“We aim to become the leading hub of online shopping and technological solutions in sub-Saharan Africa.
“Our product is the result of repetitive experiments and the never-ending hard work of our efficient employees and supporters.
“It is our hope that our product will help our customers and clients to achieve their desired results successfully and satisfy their needs,” said Pfavayi.
