PRODUCER Neshville (real name Nyasha Nyika) of Rockup Studioz who was named the Most Outstanding Producer at the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) is elated as this was his first award.
Neshville who has worked with most renowned artistes in the Matabeleland region including Iyasa, Madlela Skhobokhobo, Sandra Ndebele and Bolamba Culture Birds said this nod shows that his name has grown in the industry and that his works are finally being appreciated.
In the past, just like most producers, be it in music or film, Neshville went unnoticed as only the faces of the productions he worked on got all the acclaim. This has been the norm, especially in the music industry where those who would have put in the work behind the scenes are rarely given credit, yet, they are the drivers of most productions.
But following the RoilBAA win, Neshville is a happy man.
Having started off as a rapper around 2005, Neshville said the award shows that his work is exceptional.
“I’m overwhelmed as I’m now sure that my name is growing and my hard work has finally paid off. I still can’t believe it,” said an excited Neshville.
He said the award has given him the zeal to put in more work.
“Next year, I’ll be releasing my first project as a music producer featuring Hwabaraty, Thandy Dhlana, Khuxxman and Bhadilah. I’m also producing an album for Nomore Allar Sibanda and Siza Mdlongwa as well as new artistes that I just signed (Mjikelwawho does trap maskandi and Fire T who does dancehall),” said Neshville. — @mthabisi_mthire
