BULAWAYO businesswoman Promise Moyo has been honoured with a Service Excellence Award (Empowerment) at the 2026 Bulawayo Business Awards in recognition of her contribution to business growth, empowerment and service delivery in the city.

Moyo, who runs Pro Guest House, received the award following what organisers described as a rigorous adjudication process conducted by an independent panel of business and industry experts.

According to the official confirmation letter from the Bulawayo Business Awards (BBA) Steering Committee, Moyo was recognised for her commitment to professionalism, business excellence and contribution to economic development.

The awards ceremony was held on May 30 at the Music Academy in Bulawayo during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) period.

In a statement, the organisers said Moyo’s business had demonstrated strong leadership, resilience and innovation within Bulawayo’s competitive business environment.

“It is with profound honor and the utmost professional esteem that the Bulawayo Business Awards (BBA) Steering Committee officially confirms your selection as a distinguished winner for the prestigious award category, Service Excellence Award (Empowerment),” read part of the statement.

The organisers said Moyo’s enterprise stood out because of its operational efficiency, market competitiveness and commitment to maintaining high professional standards.

“Your visionary leadership has not only successfully steered your enterprise through the complexities of the contemporary economic landscape but has also inspired a pervasive culture of innovation and resilience within your industry,” the statement read.

The awards committee also commended Moyo for contributing towards economic growth through job creation and supporting local business value chains.

“Your direct and measurable contribution to economic growth through substantive job creation, strategic capital investment, and the advancement of local value chains, exemplifies the very essence of this year’s central theme,” the organisers said.

This year’s awards were held under the theme: “Creating a conducive business environment and quality standards for industrial competitiveness in a 24-hour economy,” with the motto “Celebrating Bulawayo’s Spirit of Enterprise.”

Commenting on the importance of the theme, Moyo said it underscored the need for businesses to maintain high standards while adapting to the demands of a constantly operating economy.

“My profound observation is that it perfectly highlighted how a 24-hour economy demands a total shift in operational stamina, ensuring that local industries aren’t just running around the clock, but maintaining elite quality standards the entire time. It marked and provided a blueprint for Bulawayo’s businesses,” said Moyo.

The recognition adds to growing calls for support and recognition of women-led businesses that continue to drive economic activity and empowerment in Bulawayo and across Zimbabwe.
