A prophet from a Zionist Church based in Nkayi impregnated a 16-year-old congregant through what he termed spiritual sex.
The prophet told her that she had a a�?spirit of deatha�? to be cast away but at a secluded place.
Fearing untimely death, she went to the propheta��s homestead for prayers.
The first time around she was prayed for and discharged. On the second day, the prophet told her to sleep over because he wanted to monitor her.
After hours of intense prayer in the middle of the night, the prophet asked for sex.
The unruly logic being that sex would cast the spirit away. She gave in and more sex sessions were conducted from time to time until she fell pregnant.
The matter came to light when the girl absconded from school. When quizzed by her mother she opened up about the issue and new development; the pregnancy.
The matter was then reported to the police leading to the man of Goda��s arrest.
For the offence the prophet was brought before Nkayi resident magistrate Temba Chimiso facing a rape charge.
He was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody.
He was also advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
