‘Prophet’ sodomises sleeping client

A 24-YEAR-OLD man from Gwanda has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sodomising a 25-year-old man who was asleep at the time of the assault.
The Gwanda Magistrates’ Court handed down the sentence after the accused was found guilty of aggravated indecent assault.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the offence occurred on 24 January 2025 in Guyu, where the accused had gained the victim’s trust by claiming he could help him with spiritual problems.
The accused visited the victim’s home, applied oil to his stomach and back, and they both fell asleep.
The victim later awoke to find the accused committing the assault.
Following a confrontation, the accused attempted to silence the victim, but he instead reported the incident to his parents, who encouraged him to file a police report.
