“We will meet tomorrow (today) as the leadership to discuss his hero status.”

He was 58.

“I was informed by my daughter after I had just arrived from Dande where he had sent me to collect some cattle and during the afternoon he held a meeting with headmen at Mudhindo Township,” he said.

Mr Muzhange said after hearing about the incident, he went to the scene where there were some police officers. He said burial arrangements would be announced after the Zanu-PF primary elections scheduled for Monday.

One of the occupants of the house near the accident scene said she was awakened by a loud bang and went outside to investigate where she realised it was an accident.

She said it was not the first time that accidents occurred at the scene.
