Silver Spur, which traded under Ambiance Private Limited, operated at Holiday Inn hotel at the corner of Fifth Street and Samora Machel Avenue.
When The Herald arrived at the hotel, the Messenger of Court was loading property, including chip fryers, refridgerators, grillers, icemakers, bar stools among others, into a Mazda T35 truck.
Among the few goods left in the restaurant were money tills and a few benches. According to court papers, Telsweet Catering sold the restaurant to Ambiance Pvt Ltd, owned by former operations director of Zimsun Leisure Hotels Innocent Nezungai. It is stated that Telsweet sold the restaurant business together with movable property totaling US$180 000 and Nezungai would pay a deposit of US$100 000 within 30 days.
“Telsweet would receive the remaining balance of US$80 000 in four equal instalments over a period of one year. Interest on any outstanding amount would be levied at the rate of 10 percent per annum,” read part of the documents.
Ambiance allegedly failed to pay the full deposit of US$100 000 in time as agreed and isolated payments left an outstanding balance of US$83 350. Before the sale, Telsweet was a holder of the franschise of Silver Spur and Spur Bar in Harare and Arizona Spur in Bulawayo with Spur Group.
After the sale, Ambiance Pvt Ltd took all responsibilities and lease agreements with Holiday Inn Hotels valid up to November 30 in 2015.
