PSC audit verification exercise begins

and skills audit report released last year.

Teams of Public Service Commissioners and permanent secretary are visiting provincial and district offices of all Government ministries.
The programme started on Monday.

This exercise that run until 15 November, marks one of the final phases of the payroll and skills audit verification exercise by the PSC.

“On the occasion of the opening of Parliament on 6 September 2011, His Excellency President Mugabe confirmed that the Public Service Commission was in the process of verifying the areas of presumed irregularities and taking corrective action, with regards to the payroll and skills audit,” the PSC said in a statement.

The verification exercise, which is being undertaken in phases, began in July this year.

“Treasury is supporting the exercise with the necessary resources needed to ensure the implementation of this verification exercise, which is expected to culminate in a clean payroll at the Commission’s Salary Service Bureau.”
