IT will be back to school for football writers in the country when they attend a workshop organised by the Premier Soccer League in Harare from today up to Friday.

Also set to attend are media officers from Premiership clubs as the league seeks to broaden the media’s understanding and administration of football in Zimbabwe.

“The topics to be covered are the role of the media in football development, integrity in sports, club licensing, football administration, qualities of a good coach, crowd management, management of competitions and media operations,” said the Premier Soccer League ‘s communications and media liaison officer Kudzai Bare.

Some of the objectives of the workshop, according to Bare, include understanding the rules and regulations governing the administration and management of football in Zimbabwe, analysing the laws of the game, promoting the development of football as well as exploring the relationship between football clubs and media.

“We also want to share ideas and get feedback from the media as well as encourage the spirit of fairplay,” said Bare.

Media practitioners from Bulawayo who will take part in the three-day workshop include SFM Radio’s Sibongumusa Dlodlo, Star FM’s Muziwethu Hadebe, Alpha Media Holdings’ Fortune Mbele, the Sunday News duo of Mehluli Sibanda and Ngqwele Dube, Fungai Muderere of B-Metro and Chronicle’s Ricky Zililo and Sikhumbuzo Moyo.
