PSL sets player list deadline

as part of preparations for the season which starts a week after the registration deadline.
Earlier this week clubs were asked to provide  their provisional lists of players, their home and away playing colours as well as their home grounds and alternatives by Wednesday.
All the clubs are said to have submitted the provisional lists.
“All the clubs brought their papers,” said the PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele yesterday.
Fixtures, which are believed to have been sorted  out, will be released immediately after the 23 March deadline.
“We will release the fixtures after all the registration requirements have been met,” said Ndebele who was locked in meetings the entire day yesterday preparing for the crunch NetOne Charity Shield clash.
The traditional season opener is pitting Dynamos against Motor Action.
The clash pits the winner of the league title against the major knockout cup winner.
Dynamos won a double, beating Motor Action in the final of the $1 million Mbada Diamonds Cup.
Motor Action as runners-up have been invited to take part.
Most clubs, especially those participating in the Caf tournaments, made a lot of changes to their teams, with Zvishavane-based FC Platinum bringing in 14 new players while offloading an equal number.
With the exception of newly promoted Hardbody and Highlanders, all the other seven clubs in the Southern and Central Region have already confirmed their final list of 30 players.
Gweru-based Hardbody started training on Monday this week following the final resolution of their promotion wrangle with Beitbridge-based Tripple B.
Bulawayo giants coach, Kelvin Kaindu last week told Chronicle Sport that he would announce his final  squad this week, only to renege soon after their 0-0 friendly draw against Shabanie Mine at Luveve Stadium on Sunday.
Highlanders secretary Andrew “Squad” Tapela allayed fears of indecision on the part of their technical bench.
Some good players like Gerald Ndlovu and Obert Moyo are among many said to have been asked to pack their bags at the 2006 champions after a few days’ trial despite indications that their youthful squad is not yet ripe for the challenge ahead.
“The squad is almost ready, it’s only that the coach wants to assess one or two players otherwise everything is in order,” said Tapela.
Bosso put up a promising performance against Shabanie Mine on Sunday, with some methodical and purposeful build-ups that even the asbestos miners gaffer Luke “Vahombe” Masomere could not help but marvel.
Chicken Inn, who lost Heritani Masuku to Bosso, retained the majority of their 2011 squad and have been busy with friendly matches as their coach Adam Ndlovu keeps on trying various combinations.
Another Bulawayo-based side, league debutants Quelaton, chose to stick with their Division One championship winning boys while showing the door to two of their players with Premiership experience, Njabulo Ncube and Patrick Mboma Mpofu.
Ncube has since retraced his footsteps to Highlanders, a team that offloaded him during the second transfer-window last season while Mpofu is                       reportedly training with the ambitious Beitbridge-based Central Region Division One outfit Strikers FC who are said to be under the legendary Willard Khumalo.
Hwange, just like their mining counterparts, FC Platinum, were busy on the market with their biggest signing being their former player Farai Vimbisayi whom they recalled from Dynamos.
They however fired three of their most trusted players, skipper Gerald Ndlovu, Andrew Chuma           and Obert Moyo who the grapevine said could return to the Colliery following the intervention of the traditional leadership.
