THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has hailed its participation at the 2025 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo as a major step towards strengthening stakeholder relations and driving long-term growth for local football.
The six-day trade expo wrapped up at the weekend.
Acting PSL chief executive officer Rodwell Thabe, said the league seized the opportunity not just to promote its brand, but also to engage directly with fans, corporate partners, and key football stakeholders.
“One of our goals was to improve stakeholder relationships across the football ecosystem. Football is at a promising moment, we now have a newly elected Zifa executive, and the future looks bright even for the PSL,” said Thabe.
He emphasised the league’s commitment to adding value for supporters and building stronger bonds throughout the sport.
“We want to provide more value for our fans and stakeholders. We also want to foster a positive relationship with the media so we can build trust and confidence around the globe,” he said.
The PSL’s presence at ZITF was more than just promotional.
Thabe noted that the platform allowed the league to gather direct feedback from fans and stakeholders, sparking ideas that could help shape the future of Zimbabwean football.
“We were here to generate and reinforce public awareness of our credentials and capabilities. We also wanted to create excitement around the PSL and the 2025 season. Fans came with questions, and we learned a lot from those interactions,” he said.
The PSL views the ZITF as a critical platform for knowledge sharing and partnership-building, an opportunity to forge alliances that can help grow the game.
Earlier this year, the league hosted a series of stakeholder workshops aimed at aligning its strategic direction with the expectations of clubs, supporters, and partners.
The ZITF engagement, Thabe said, was a continuation of that effort to build a connected, sustainable football ecosystem.
