FORMER Zimbabwe Under-23 captain Qadr Amini is on the verge of landing a big move to Premiership champions Dynamos as he seeks to revive his career in the capital after spending time at FC Platinum.
The leftback made a surprise appearance at the Glamour Boys yesterday and took part in the drills at the B Arena under the watchful eyes of the new technical department led by David Mandigora.
Amini was joined at training yesterday by highly-rated Zifa Northern Region Division One Soccer Star of the Year Zivanai Mhanda and Obey Mwerahari who trained with the Harare giants for the first time.
The Glamour Boys are also looking to welcome last year’s World Navi Northern Region Division One Golden Boot winner Kasimero Chimbadzwa at their training session today. Amini’s agent George Deda confirmed negotiations were at an advanced stage with the Harare giants.
“All I can tell you is Dynamos are very keen to engage him as their player this season. We’ve met with the coach and it looks very promising. At this moment nothing can stop the move unless something extraordinary happens.
“Qadr is a very good player and it seems the coaches are interested in having him in their books. I am sure he too is excited.
“It’s not a secret that it’s almost every local player’s dream to play for a club like Dynamos. So if such an opportunity arises you’ve to grab it with both hands,” said Deda.
Amini’s two-year contract with the platinum miners expired on December 31 and, despite the latest turn of events, there have been efforts to renew it.
