Railstars keep pressure on Archers

Ricky Zililo, Sports Reporter
RAILSTARS produced a top drawer performance thumping struggling Zenzele 35-4 in a Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Darts League match to maintain pressure on log leaders Archers. The railmen, second on the log behind championship favourites Archers are a point behind pacesetters with 16 points from 17 outings.
Patrick Zimidzi, Railstars’ vice-captain said they wanted to beat all their opponents by big margins so that by the time they meet Archers, they have a comfortable points lead.

“Like I said before, we are on the right championship track and what we need to do is continue picking points. We cannot afford to let Archers go and every team that faces us must know that we mean business and we want to show them what we are made of. That is why we are saying the battle is not yet over as we will fight to the last match,” said Zimidzi.

He said they will get even with Archers in the second half of the season.
Njanji had to rely on their captain Charles Widzisa, Kudakwashe Mutendi, Ndabezinhle Ngwenya, George Nyathi and McLean Chirwa to lead them in their victory against a hapless Zenzele.

Archers seem to be unstoppable as they picked up maximum points on the road beating Khami 29-10.
Highlanders lost at home 18-21 to Parkview Lions and their captain Lethukuthula Nkomo has said they need to improve on their game.

“I don’t know what has hit us because we are losing matches we are supposed to win. There is need for everyone to concentrate and improve on their game because we cannot afford to continue dropping points,” Nkomo said.
