RAILSTARS defeated Mighty Queens 39-24 in a Bulawayo Province Netball League match played at Raylton Recreation Club on Saturday.
The win saw the railway girls move to third place on the standings with 33 points while Mighty Queens dropped to fourth place with 30 points although they have a game in hand.

Kholini Madaka and Nomsawenkosi Maseko were in top form for the winners.
Railstars coach Judith Mwemba believes experience played a part in their victory.

“We are an experienced team and that gives us advantage over youthful sides like Mighty Queens. Some of our players have been in the Super League,” said Mwemba.

Mwemba said they were aiming to stay on track as they seek to close the gap on pacesetters Ntutu Sparrows.
“Confidence is high in our camp at the moment, we are just targeting to winning all our remaining fixtures,” she said.
Mighty Queens’ player/coach Connie Bhuka said most of their youngsters were not available for the match.

“Most of my youngsters were not available and Railstars didn’t agree to postpone the match so we just had to play with the players we had,” said Bhuka.

Championship favourites Ntutu Sparrows responded with a 47-23 win against police outfit Fairbridge.
