HIGHLANDERS Darts Club’s miserable start to the season continued after a 31-8 walloping by Railstars in a league encounter played at Raylton Sports Club on Wednesday night.Railstars are enjoying a fine start with an unbeaten run in their opening five games played so far.
Their captain Charles Widzisai said the encounter against shrinking Highlanders was a one-sided affair despite Highlanders’ spokesperson Lethukuthula Nkomo’s threats going into the fixture.
“The game was just a one-sided affair, it was so easy like a hot knife going through a bar of margarine, but we are not going to get carried away, now we have to focus on our next game. Our motto is to take each game as it comes,” said Widzisai.
Railstars’ victory was inspired by six wins by Patrick Zimidzi while George Nyathi and Sikhumbuzo Muzondiwa both won five.
Highlanders captain Lethukuthula Nkomo said the fixtures did not favour them in the opening games.
“The fixtures do not favour us, we had all the big guns in our opening games, now we hope to pick ourselves up get our season back on track,” said Nkomo.
